Rambutan

เงาะ (Ngo; Ngaw)
Rambutan (Ngo in Thai) is a round to oval fruit with reddish-colored leathery skin that is covered with fleshy pliable spines, hence the name rambutan, derived from the Malay word rambut, which means hairs. The fruit flesh is translucent, whitish or very pale pink, with a sweet, mildly acidic flavor very reminiscent of grapes. It is one of the best known fruits in Thailand, probably due to its usual looks.
